Trombone Teacher

Tiago Nunes entered the Porto´s Conservatory of Music, in 2001, in the Trombone Class of the Teacher Fernando Baptista and later in the class of the Teacher Joaquim Oliveira.

In 2011, he completed a Degree in Music in the field of performance – Trombone, by the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts - ESMAE, in the class of Teachers David Silva and Severo Martinez.

He attends the 2nd year of the Master in Music Education at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts - ESMAE.

He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as: Porto Symphonic Orchestra – Casa da Música, Remix Ensemble – Casa da Música, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra, Beiras Philharmonic Orchestra, North Orchestra, Madeira Classical Orchestra, Harmos Festival Orchestra, among others , where he acted under the direction of renowned conductors such as Leopold Hager, Brad Lubman, Douglas Bostock, Baldur Bronnimann, Douglas Boyd, Martin André, Olari Elts, José Rafael Vilaplana, Takuo Yuasa, Douglas Bostock, Jan Cober, Ilan Volkov, Jan Wierzba, Emílio Pomarico, Nicholas Kok, Peter Bergamin, Ernst Schelle, among others.

He attended several technical improvement masterclasses with renowned musicians such as: Andreas Klein, Stefan Schulz, Otmar Gaiswinker, Severo Martinez, Nuno Martins, Dawid Seidenberg, Jarret Butler, Javier Viceiro, Sergio Carolino, Abel Pereira, among others.

Awarded in 2014 with the 2nd Exeq Prize. in the National Wind Instrument Competition “Terras de la Salette”, at the senior level, having obtained the 3rd Prize in the same category in 2010. Laureated with the 2nd Prize in the Internal Competition of the Porto´s Conservatory of Music, in level A of the Brass Category, in 2008 and 2009.

He has supervised Trombone Masterclasses, by the Portuguese Symphonic Wind Band, at Vigo's Professional Conservatory of Music, at the BSP Júnior Festival, at Espaço Miguel Torga and at the Banda Musical de Lagares.

He is currently Solo Trombone of the Portuguese Symphonic Wind Band. He is Trombone Professor at the Silva Monteiro Music Course, at the Alto Minho Professional Artistic School – ARTEAM and at the Monção Music Academy.
