Born in 1979 in Porto, he began studying drums at the age of 14, having taken classes at Instituto Orff do Porto, with Professor Eduardo Lopes, and later at Escola de Jazz do Porto, with Professor Koen Van Esch.
He participated in several workshops/masterclasses with drummers such as Peter Erskine, Jamey Haddad, Jon Hazila, Nicko McBrain, Mike Portnoy, Michael Lauren, Marc Miralta, Matt Wilson, Virgil Donati, Rod Morgenstein, Billy Hart, among others.
In 2006 he graduated in Jazz/Drums at ESMAE where he studied with Michael Lauren, Mário Barreiros, Carlos Azevedo, Pedro Guedes, Nuno Ferreira, Paulo Perfeito and Lauren Filipe.
In 2019 he completed a Masters in Music Teaching (percussion/drums) at Universidade Católica do Porto.
Between 2006 and 2013 he taught the subject of Musical Expression in the Curriculum Enrichment Activities, having worked for the Municipal Councils of Porto, Matosinhos and Maia.
Since 2004 he has been teaching drums, currently teaching at the Curso de Música Silva Monteiro and at Colégio de Nossa Senhora do Rosário.
He participated in several musical projects such as: Os Azeitonas, Expensive Soul, Sérgio Lucas, Sofia Ribeiro, João Nuno Kendall, Ludgero Rosas, Dan Mcalister, among others.
