Sara Vaz, born in 1994, began her musical studies, under Helena Côrte-Real. She was in the Porto Music Conservatory, in Fátima Travanca's class, from Preparatory to 6th level. Her teacher in the 7th and 8th levels was Maria José Souza Guedes.

She began her Bachelor's Degree course in Music (piano) at ESMAE, under Miguel Borges Coelho, ending it on an Erasmus programme in Musikene, San Sebastián, under Marta Zabaleta. She has taken part in several masterclasses with Imre Rohmann, Andrei Diev, Paulo Oliveira, Jorge Moyano, Joaquin Soriano, Serghei Covalenco and Olga Prats, among others. She has won prizes at several competitions, of note being 1st prize at the Olga Prats Piano Competition, 1st prize at the Póvoa de Varzim Piano Competition and 2nd prize at the Fundão City International Competition.

She was heard and advised by pianist Helena Sá e Costa.

She is now doing her Master's Degree in Music - Performance at the University of Aveiro under Professor Álvaro Teixeira Lopes. She continues to study the piano, in a private capacity, with Artur Pizarro.
