Born in Maia, he began his musical studies with his father Augusto Ferreira. Later, he joined the Gueifães Music Band in Maia, where he continued his studies.

At the age of 12, he studied at the Porto Music Conservatory, first under Professor Manuel Luís Azevedo and later under Professor Rui Brito. In 2012, he completed his Bachelor's Degree in the Trumpet at ESMAE - Higher Institute of Music and the Performing Arts under Professor Kevin Wauldron. He has attended a number of masterclasses with prestigious trumpeters, of note being Vasco Faria, Sérgio Pacheco, Luís Granjo, Jorge Almeida and Luís Gonzalez.

He worked as section director, in the trumpet class, during the summer internship in the Freixo de Espada à Cinta Band. He did his end-of-year internship in the Porto Music Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Francisco Ferreira.

He was part of a Sinfonietta at ESMAE - Higher Institute of Music and the Performing Arts, where he worked with maestros such as Yuri Nasushkin, Harry Lith, Pedro Neves, Rui Massena and Vytautas Lukočius.

Also at ESMAE, he took part in the Harmos Festival, conducted by António Saiote. He took part in the 5th Youth Orchestra Internship organised by the Official Music Conservatories – OJ.COM, under the artistic direction of Maestro Rui Massena, held in the Madeira Conservatory in 2009, the brass group internship under Professor Kevin Wauldron, which took place in November 2008, and the 5th Youth Orchestra Internship organised by the Official Music Conservatories – OJ.COM, under the artistic direction of Maestro Nicholas Kok, held in Casa da Música, April 2008.

He was a founding member of the B'brass brass quintet in 2008, he attended the end-of-year internship in the Porto Music Conservatory Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Francisco Ferreira and took part in the Porto Music Conservatory In-house Competition in 2006 and 2007, winning third and second prizes, respectively, in the Wind-Brass category, level A.

He currently teaches at Curso de Música Silva Monteiro and the Vermoim Philharmonic Music School.

As a musician, he is part of the Pedaço de Nós Big Band, the Oporto Big Band, the Vermoim Philharmonic Orchestra, the B'brass Quintet, the A'Lord Foundation Orchestra and the Famalicão Philharmonic Band.
