Matilde Andrade

Matilde Andrade was born in 1997 in Guarda, where she began her musical studies.
She studied piano at Conservatory of Guarda until 2015. Since 2015 to 2018 she studied at the Bachelor in Music – Piano at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon.
She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Sciences (Musicology) in 2020 at the Social and Human Science Faculty/New University of Lisbon. She is doing her Music Teaching Master in History of Music at Aveiro University.
As well as artistic development courses, she has done courses in theater, education, communication, mediation and cultural production. She has focused her work particularly on contemporary music and multidisciplinary artistic work, which she approaches as a performer and as a musicologist.
Together with Sónia Lira, she worked on the music collection of the composer António Cordeiro dos Santos, at the University of Aveiro Library, which resulted in the publication of "Catálogo do espólio musical de António Maria Cordeiro dos Santos", by UA Editora (ISBN 978-972-789-775-9), coordinated by Maria do Rosário Pestana (2022).
She was Executive Producer and Cultural Mediation Technician at Arte no Tempo (Aveiro) between June 2022 and August 2023. She has been teaching piano privately and at the Lisbon Music Institute since 2018. In 2020/2021 she was the conductor of the project "Coro dos Pequenos Cidadãos - Cantar a Cidadania" (funded by the Gulbenkian Foundation's Cidadãos Activ@s program), in Aveiro. In 2021/2022 she taught piano at the Mêda Music Training Center and was a trainee teacher of History of Culture and the Arts (Music) at the Silva Monteiro Music Course.
