Hugo Vitorino

Violin Teacher

Born in Porto, Hugo Vitorino began his musical studies at the age of 11 at the Fundação Conservatório Regional de Gaia, in the class of professor Américo Magalhães. He continued in the class of professor Francisco Pereira de Sousa, achieving Grade 8, with the same professor, at the Music Academy of Oliveira de Azeméis.

He has a First Degree in Violin Performance from the ESART – Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas, in Castelo Branco, under the guidance of professors Augusto Trindade and Alexandra Trindade.

Hugo has participated in training courses and Masterclass with professors Jossif Grinman, Daniel Rowland, and Augusto Trindade. In orchestra, he worked under the direction of conductors Florin Totan, Torsten Östergren, Jiri Malat, Eduardo Rahn, German Caceres, Ivo Cruz, Mário Mateus, Pedro Neves, José Eduardo Gomes and Osvaldo Ferreira.

In 2002, Hugo was also selected for the internship of The OPEM 2002 Orchestra, where he was under the direction of conductor Vasco Pearce de Azevedo.
He currently teaches violin at CMSM – Curso de Música Silva Monteiro and at the Lycée Français International, in Porto.
