Born in Coimbra, Portugal, in 1993, Ana Teresa Seiça began her musical studies at 5 years old, with her father, and later with piano teacher Fernanda Casais. At the same time, she joins Coimbra’s children choir – “Coro dos Pequenos Cantores de Coimbra” -, where she will remain until the age of 18 years old.

In 2005, she began studying at São Teotónio’s music school, where she finished the 8th degree of Piano - 17 values - with the teacher Klara Dolynay.

In the context of her piano studies, she participated in Masterclasses with the teachers Álvaro Teixeira Lopes, Fausto Neves e Nancy Lee Harper.

From 2011 to 2012, she attends the 1st year of Artistic Studies in Coimbra’s University, having joined, the following year, the bachelor in Choir Conducting, Theory and Musical Education, in Aveiro’s University. In 2015, she’s awarded with the prize “Município de Aveiro”, for being the student finishing bachelor with the highest score – 17,3 values out of 20.

Currently, she has a Master degree in Music Education (Aveiro’s University), having obtained the classification of 18 values out of 20 with the thesis “Learning to understand melody through diversity – an experiment of tonal audiation with preschool children”, a study based on Edwin Gordon’s Music Learning Theory.

Parallel to her academic education, she has been participating in several courses, among which stand out the “Gregorian chant weeks” (Viseu), “Sacred music cycles” (Bragança), choral conducting masterclasses with the teachers Martin Schmidt and Carlos Alberto Figueiredo (Aveiro), music pedagogy masterclass with Jos Wuytack (Porto) and children choir conducting masterclass with Basilio Astulez Duque (Guimarães).

At present, and since 2011, she takes part in a feminin choir – “Vox Aetherea” – with which gives concerts throughout the country.

Besides giving private piano and musical training lessons, she currently teaches Music Education (preschool, primary and secondary education) in Guilhermina Suggia’s music school and Silva Monteiro’s music school, both in Oporto.

From 2016, she also gives piano classes in OSMOPE school (preschool and primary education).
